Laura Schepp is a research assistant in the Reservoir Engineering group within the Fraunhofer Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems in Bochum, Germany. She holds a M.Sc. in Geosciences with specialization in geophysics from the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany. Under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jörg Renner in the Experimental Geophysics group at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum she completed her doctoral thesis in 2016 with the title: “Auswertung von freien Druckschwingungen in Bohrlochversuchen und erzwungenen Druckschwingungen in Laborversuchen zur Bestimmung hydraulischer Eigenschaften”.
Her research interests lie in the area of determination of rock properties, in particular hydraulic properties in the context of reservoir characterization. For that she uses primarily experimental setups but as well analytical modelling.
