Marcel Gurris has been a Professor of mathematics and simulation at Bochum University of Applied Science since 2015. During 2014 and 2015 he was a Professor of applied mathematics at Stuttgart University of Applied Science. From 2011 till 2014 he worked at the Research and Development Department of CLAAS Selbstfahrende Erntemaschinen GmbH. Marcel Gurris got his doctoral degree in numerical mathematics at Dortmund University of Technology, where he worked as a research assistant during the years 2007 till 2010. His research interests include numerical methods for partial differential equations, finite element methods, computational fluid dynamics and digital rock physics.
