Mirko earned his M.Sc. in mechanical engineering at Ruhr-University Bochum in 2015. The following two years he worked as a computational engineer at pump manufacturer Klaus Union. Since 2017 he is a research assistant at Bochum University of Applied Sciences under supervision of Prof. Marcel Gurris.
In 2018 Mirko started to collaborate with the Reservoir Engineering and Rock Physics group of Erik H. Saenger. His research interests are in the field of digital rock physics, especially numerical simulations of effective thermal conductivity in porous media.
